Dear F. Bayard Carter Society Members,
Meet us in St. Louis! This year’s annual meeting will be held in the shadow of the iconic Gateway Arch in downtown St. Louis from Thursday, September 15 to Saturday, September 17, 2022. An exciting social schedule as well as a diverse scientific program will make this year’s meeting one you don’t want to miss. Hosts are Drs. Geoff Turner and Ashley Veade.
Be sure to register for:
- the Carter Society meeting ($300, which includes Thursday's welcome reception, Friday's dinner and dance and scientific sessions on Friday and Saturday)
- your hotel room (discounted room rate of $199/night — please note that due to the high volume of occupancy anticipated for the weekend, the discounted room rate is available only for Wednesday through Sunday. Room rate is only good through 8/25!)
- Saturday Cardinals game (suite tickets $100/each for the first 50 registrants and overflow tickets $50/each)
This is a Cardinals baseball weekend, so make your reservations soon. Proximity to social events should make a rental car unnecessary — the hotel is a 17-minute cab or Uber from the St. Louis Lambert International Airport.

We have reserved a room block at the Hyatt Regency St. Louis at the Arch at a discounted room rate of $199/night. Click here to make your hotel reservation.
Again, please note that due to the high volume of occupancy anticipated for the weekend, the discounted room rate is available only for Wednesday through Sunday. If you would like to stay additional days, you will be charged the regular rate of $249/night for that portion of the stay. Meeting Highlights
Thursday welcome reception (included in cost of meeting registration): The welcome reception will be held on Thursday night from 6-8 p.m. at Three Sixty, a rooftop bar on the 36th floor of the nearby Hilton Hotel with incredible views of Busch Stadium and the Arch.
Friday dinner and dance (included in cost of meeting registration): A "Friday Night Fever" Disco Dinner and Dance will be held on the rooftop terrace of the Hyatt with light-up dance floor and great views of the Arch.
Friday and Saturday Carter Society meeting (included in cost of meeting registration): Scientific sessions will be held on Friday and Saturday mornings with the annual business meeting to follow on Saturday.
Friday afternoon (on your own): Friday afternoon has been reserved for Arch tours at your leisure. Click here to sign up for your preferred tour time in advance.
Saturday afternoon options (on your own; however, closer to the event we will judge interest in these choices to see if group transportation needs to be arranged):
Special event! Saturday night — Cardinals vs. Reds at Busch Stadium (click here to register): We will have an all-inclusive suite for the first 50 people to buy tickets at $100 each. FIRST COME, FIRST SERVED! Any overflow will be seated together in the Redbird club area behind home plate at a price of $50 each. The Carter Society is partially subsidizing all tickets. Everyone attending the game will get a custom t-shirt with St Louis /Duke logos commemorating the 2022 meeting!
