ANNUAL MEETING – OCT. 12-14, 2023

The 2023 annual meeting will be hosted by Dr. Craig Sobolewski and held in Durham, North Carolina from Thursday, Oct. 12 to Saturday, Oct. 14. An exciting social schedule as well as a diverse scientific program (click here to view the scientific program) will make this year’s meeting one you don’t want to miss.
Be sure to register for:
— the Carter Society meeting ($300, which includes Thursday's welcome reception, Friday's dinner and dance and scientific sessions on Friday and Saturday)
— your hotel room
— optional special event: Duke vs. NC State football game (tickets $150/each, capped at 25 tickets)
HOTEL INFORMATION

Preferred rates have been secured at The Durham Hotel until Monday, Sept. 18, 2023. Click here for reservations, enter your stay dates between Thursday, Oct. 12 – Saturday, Oct. 14, 2023, select your room type and a confirmation will be sent to you upon completion of your reservation; or contact the hotel directly at 919-768-8830 and request a reservation under the Carter Society 73rd Annual Conference room block.
MEETING HIGHLIGHTS
Thursday welcome reception (included in the cost of meeting registration): The welcome reception will be held on Thursday night from 6-11 p.m. at the rooftop bar of the Durham Hotel.
Friday dinner and dance (included in the cost of meeting registration): A Speakeasy/Roaring '20s–themed dinner and dance will be held at The Cotton Room in Durham.

Friday and Saturday Carter Society meeting (included in the cost of meeting registration): Scientific sessions will be held on Friday and Saturday mornings at the Durham Hotel with the annual business meeting to follow on Saturday.
Optional special event! Saturday, time TBD — Duke Blue Devils vs. NC State Wolfpack home football game at Wallace Wade Stadium (separate cost, click here to register): We will have a block of 25 seats in the Blue Devil Tower suite for the first 25 people to buy tickets at $150 each. FIRST COME, FIRST SERVED! Price includes parking, access to the tower, buffet food and non-alcoholic beverages. A cash bar is available. If there is interest in excess of this block of 25, we may be able to get additional seats in the Tower or in General Admission (unless the game is already sold out). The Carter Society is partially subsidizing all tickets.
